“Want to hear the Bible in 10 minutes?” | C2C now in Japanese!

Exciting news!!  The “Creation to Christ” story (also known as “C2C”) is now available in Japanese.  This project was completed by the Grace Church Sapporo translation team (led by Hiraku Sabaki & Nozomi Juday).C2C is a way of clearly presenting the gospel via the redemptive story of the Bible from creation to Christ’s resurrection.

Some free, downloadable, high quality slides were developed as an aid to telling the story.  I have found them to be very helpful in sharing C2C using my iPad, iPhone or laptop.  We printed off card-sized copies to be used by Japanese believers who do not have smartphone or tablet.  While the pictures are not required to tell the C2C story they help engage people as well as serve to keep you on track with the story.

Most find transitioning a conversation toward the gospel to be a challenge.  If the conversation does not flow in that direction naturally, I typically ask them “Do you think I could tell the entire story of the Bible in 10 minutes?”  While they are thinking or laughing at me, I get out my iPhone or iPad and begin telling them the C2C story (keeping in mind Ying Kai’s “one or two eggs” principle).

C2C slides have been developed as visual aids for sharing the Creation to Christ gospel presentation. This is a sample of the 20 slides available for free download at http://c2cstory.weebly.com/

Learning C2C: I have found the best way to learn (and train others in) C2C is to practice telling it with others.  Practice with friends, family members, classmates, teammates, neighbors, your small group, your pastor, taxi driver, strangers, elderly, kids…anyone with a pulse.  As you practice, you will learn it…and so will they!  The more your practice & equip others, the more natural your story telling will be.  I have heard of people practicing in front of the mirror.  While there is nothing wrong with that (do whatever works), it seems to waste an opportunity to equip others.

“I like my way of doing it (evangelism) better than your way of not doing it” – DL Moody

“Not doing it” not an option: C2C is one of many ways to share the gospel.  The method is not as important as the clarity and completeness of the gospel…and actually sharing with others.  Some will use the excuse that they do not like this method or that method.  I have found that most people who criticize methods do not actually share the gospel with others.  I am reminded of DL Moody’s response to a woman who was critical of his evangelism methods.  His reply was “I agree with you. I don’t like the way I do it either. Tell me, how do you do it?” The lady replied, “I don’t do it.” Moody retorted, “Then I like my way of doing it better than your way of not doing it.”

If you are a Christian, you have been entrusted with the gospel, empowered by God’s Spirit & commissioned to Jesus’ mission.  Rely on Him to help you obey.  If you do not have a method, try C2C.  If you have another method, go for it.  Remember that disobedience is not an option.
